FAQs

We are a full service college prep coaching organization. EDcellerate consultants offer a range of personalized services including academic assessment, learning styles inventories, and individualized academic tutorials that can support a student’s academic curriculum along with study and test taking skills.

We provide a comprehensive menu of consulting services that will guide college-bound students through the entire college search to admissions process. This includes assistance with the college application, a list of "best fit" colleges, a standardized test schedule, advice on extra-curricular and summer activities, essay guidance, interview preparation, and identifying scholarship options.

While many families come to us when their children are in their last 2 years of high school, the actual preparation begins sooner than that. Students need to engage in the courses and activities that will enhance their options for college at every level of their school life. Taking the right courses, earning the best grades, and engaging in extracurricular and community service activities early will better prepare them for the college of their choice.

The end of middle school, around age 12 or 13 would be a great place to start. We can assess the student’s status at that point and help the family develop a plan for the end of middle school and a four-year high school plan that will maximize their potential.

EDcellerate's independent college prep coaches focus only on college preparation and work with students and their families on a one on one basis providing personalized service. Unlike high school counsellors, we are not encumbered with typical school responsibilities beyond college counseling and high counsellor / student ratios. Our schedule is flexible, we are available in the evenings, on weekends and during the summer, and we even make house calls, thus providing an opportunity for the whole family to be involved in the process.

We do not replace the school counselor; in fact, we encourage our students to work closely with their school counselors and encourage students to fully utilize their school’s guidance resources.
